We prepare ASP.NET 5: in more detail about work with Gulp

1 year, 4 months ago
We continue our column on the subject ASP.NET 5 by the publication from Dmitry Sikorsky (DmitrySikorsky) — the developer from Ukraine. In this article Dmitry tells about scenarios of application with ASP.NET 5 of popular means of Gulp in more detail. The previous articles from a column can always be read according to the link #aspnetcolumn — Vladimir Yunev
Before emergence of ASP.NET 5 I never used such tools as Gulp therefore it was necessary to find some time and to understand what is it when I created the first project on this platform (the truth, then there still there was Grunt, but it is not important). I will not begin to press in basic things which already everywhere are rather in detail described (I mean that in your project there is already Gulpfile.js and you can perform tasks from it, using the manager of execution of tasks the Visual Studio 2015), and at once I will pass to business and in practice I will show how it is possible to use Gulp for automation of all in your project on ASP.NET 5.

Fragments of the Gulpfile.js file of a test project of AspNet5Gulpization which entirely lies here will be given in article: https://github.com/DmitrySikorsky/AspNet5Gulpization.

Introduction

You for certain know for what the new wwwroot folder is used. Actually, with its emergence I a little in a new way looked at scripts, styles and pictures. Namely, as well as server code of the website, now I separate them into source codes and objects, ready to the publication.

Development of the DB service based on graphs: from a prototype to a reliable and scalable solution in a cloud

1 year, 4 months ago
The databoom service is cloudy backend for Web and mobile applications. It reduces time and reduces the cost of prototyping and applications programming due to simplification of data access. On the following videos it is shown how easily by means of databoom the Web application prototype is under construction.

Microsoft Azure allows to create reliable scalable applications surprisingly easily. If few years ago Azure meant Windows, then today Microsoft Azure is the fine environment and for Linux of developers.

The server part of databoom works under control of Linux, uses Node.js and native the modules written on C ++. Simplicity of expansion of virtual computers, balancers and other services under Azure allowed us to unroll a cloud solution rather easily.

Having begun with prototypes, our many clients continue to work with us, creating harder and harder applications for which questions of reliability, security and scalability are crucial. Therefore we selected Microsoft Azure.

1 year, 4 months ago
Hi! Readers of our blog are for certain familiar with our annual DevCon conference. In a few words, DevCon is our key conference for developers on a platform of Microsoft in Russia. In May of this year we noted the conference fifth anniversary.

Having a little taken rest in the summer, we began to think what to do to us with conference further. Though introduction of radical changes is not end in itself, we held inside much enough rough meetings, trying to rethink conference and having dared to go places to essential deviations from a classical format of conference.

Today I in brief will walk on some as it is fashionable to tell it, and I will try to tell conceptual changes about our motivation standing behind them.
