We recover access rights under Mac OS X — EL Capitan

2 years, 7 months ago
Upon transition to El Capitan a number of users faced problems of access rights — idle sudo, incorrect timezone, etc …

Root of all evil is the cut-down access to / private/etc.

For a start, to you, it is worth checking the. Open Terminal (it can be made through Spotlight) and enter ls - la/private.

$ ls -la /private
total 0
drwxr-xr-x@ 6 root wheel 204 Oct 1 10:20 .
drwxr-xr-x 33 root wheel 1190 Nov 4 15:56 ..
drwxr-xr-x 106 root wheel 3604 Nov 13 18:04 etc
drwxr-xr-x 2 root wheel 68 Aug 23 02:28 tftpboot
drwxrwxrwt 14 root wheel 476 Nov 16 10:55 tmp
drwxr-xr-x 25 root wheel 850 Nov 4 17:02 var
$

Here so "drwxr-xr-x" also the rights to etc have to look. If they look more similar on "drwx-----", then to you to us.

And whether there was who on the server?

2 years, 7 months ago
Tyapnits … the thirteenth … all important was decided to be left on Monday, and therefore I will play some dirty trick …
Due to we poyavivishitsya on Habré by retelling of article decided to balance this manual a little. To hide the visit, of course, it is not absolutely trivial, but it does not make special difficulties.
So, task:
To enter on the server, to perform certain operations and "to sweep" for itself.

Hereinafter we consider that no additional instruments of tracking (behind an exception "by default") in system are used and we know the password of root'a.

What we work with:

# uname -ori
FreeBSD 10.0-RELEASE GENERIC

# `echo $SHELL` --version
tcsh 6.18.01 (Astron)

Described lower than a little discords with article mentioned above since it first of all is oriented to Linux-users, but the general principles to a tezha and after transition to FreeBSD (with 9.0) on data storage in utmpx the relationship became closer.

Went …

One more virtual interface

2 years, 7 months ago
In the previous note Linux kernel module code sketch for creation of the additional virtual network interface was shown. It was the simplified fragment from the real project which fulfilled several years without failures and claims so it can quite serve as a template for further improvement, correction and development.

But such approach to implementation, first, not only, and, secondly, in some situations it can be and unacceptable (for example, in the built-in system with a kernel is younger 2.6.36 where there is no netdev_rx_handler_register challenge yet ()). Below the alternative option with the same functionality but implementing it on absolutely other layer of a network stack of TCP/IP will be considered.

Linux-containers: when containers become more

2 years, 7 months ago

In last article I in brief told about what is container virtualization, LXC in particular why it is necessary and as quickly to configure all this.

In the course of use, the number of containers gradually grows. At the same time, one can be clones of others, and plus to everything, are constructed on snapshota. There is a natural desire: to facilitate to itself procedure of management of this container warehouse.

Overview of the Thinstation server

2 years, 7 months ago
Upon transition of Thinstation to the fifth version there was an opportunity to download a distribution kit and to install system for assembly and distribution of images of loading of thin clients on PXE. This option allows to deploy without skills of configuring of Linux in the local area network the server with TFTP and HTTP services, plus to receive the configured designer of Thinstation.
I out of curiosity poyuzat about three years ago a subject, also many glitches were dampish, decided to look here on how many developers in the aspiration to facilitate life to users of the project promoted.

Budget mailing of SMS

2 years, 7 months ago
I welcome all habrozhitel!

Of course, the licked subject about mailing of SMS messages, but how to be told: "more is better than less". Somehow so it turned out that it constantly pursues me: one, other kind people will ask to take part (council, for example) in implementation of budget mailing of messages. And therefore not to vanish to the saved-up good, I will leave here, and suddenly it is useful to someone …

So - with … We lower all options of implementation based on a normal computer and an axis of NT family. And we will pass to "autonomous" systems at once.

What arduino in this direction can brag of? I will answer immediately, IT works, but there are nuances about which I will write below. Generally, we have the Chinese arduino 2560 option (it was tried practically all line) and two additional modules — the W5100 network (the stablest option) and GSM SIM 900. All this business somehow so looks.

The task was following:
— the device has to be able to communicate on http
— to send the message
— to issue result in the json format

Google shares all necessary information, and on an output we receive the following code:

Of course, we  could not disregard the following news:  the second beta of Ansible v2.0 was published. The draft Ansible v2.0 option was placed on GitHub for a long time, and now at last more or less stable beta release appeared.

In this article we will tell about the most significant innovations in the second version.

Michael Stounbreyker — Hadoop at the crossroads

2 years, 7 months ago
[@tsafin — the Owner Turing's awardsMichael Stounbreykerof should not be represented, it and his students from Berkeley and MIT created, on feelings, the most part relational and not relational databases for the last a couple of decades. Ingress and Postgress, C-Store and Vertica, H-Store and VoltDB – here only small part of projects and firms which Michael and his students affected directly and still are a set of forok and derivatives …

Thus when he criticizes something, whether it be NoSQL or Hadoop, the industry should listen, at least, and it is better to try to change.

His point of view on Hadoop stated in articles 2012 and 2014 of year seemed to me interesting and it was interesting to trace development of the point of view of "classic" for such short period.

The first article "Possible Hadoop Trajectories" published in "Comunications of ACM" http://cacm.acm.org/blogs/blog-cacm/149074-possible-hadoop-trajectories/fulltext, the Stonebreaker wrote in May, 2012 in a co-authorship with Jeremy Kepner (Jeremy Kepner) who at that moment worked as the senior technicians in MIT and as the researcher in MIT Mathematics Department and MIT Computer Science and AI Lab. This article written in a co-authorship seems more impudent and fervent, in comparison with the second, written already by him two years later (and what there, the first article is written to IMHO in the best style), but I publish them in a sheaf since the context for passed few years strongly changed, and it would be dishonest to leave in relation to an ecosystem of Hadoop/HDFS it unnoticed.
